Life Coach and Anti-Burnout AdvocateLive Your Life with Intention, Fulfillment and Joy
Welcome, my friend!
I’m Amy, and I help busy, burned-out women overcome their overwhelm and live their lives with much less stress and much more intention, fulfillment, and joy.
I help healers heal themselves.
I was one of those people who “always knew” I wanted to be a veterinarian. And just like you, I worked hard, studied harder, and traded my time for knowledge and growth and mostly unpaid internships to secure the future of my dreams.
Eventually, I got into vet school (yay!), where I worked my ass off even more (nooo!), and graduated with the hopes and dreams of a naïve new grad about to experience a serious reality check.
Even as a doctor with a successful career, I battled perfectionism, people-pleasing, struggled to set boundaries, failed to create work-life balance, lacked time and energy for myself and my relationships, and lived the effects of burnout. I was exhausted. On the outside my life looked great! But on the inside I was dyyying.
All because I didn’t have the knowledge, tools and skills that I have now.
So, after years of struggling, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, neuroscience research, coaching, nervous system regulation work, and somatic therapies to recover successfully. And the results were so profound that I decided I had to teach this to others.
Today I help people and pets! I coach women who are struggling (just like I once was) to create aligned, joyful, and fulfilling lives and careers, and I practice veterinary medicine in a way that I love.
My mission is to prevent burnout in caregiving professions. By taking care of ourselves we can take care of our clients and patients in a healthy, enjoyable and sustainable way. Win-win.
If this sounds like the life you want, all you need to do is take that first, small step today. Schedule a coaching consultation with me. It is so worth it! I promise.
My Values & Beliefs
Rest is a right - not a reward.
Our society and work culture praise us for being productive. We are told we are doing a good job when we squeeze in one last patient, stay late to help, pick up an extra shift, cover for someone else, and cancel our own plans and place our own needs last in order to be of service to someone else.
Over time our brains incorrectly link our productivity to our self worth. We believe that in order to be worthy we must sacrifice our own health, energy and time to be seen as valuable. We struggle to rest and recharge, because deep down we fear that we have not earned it. Even though we are so exhausted because we are already doing so much.
This constant state of running on empty while simultaneously trying to do more, leads to burnout and dissatisfaction within our personal and professional lives.
The solution to this problem is learning to fuel yourself first! This comes with a whole lot of unlearning of societal expectations and “norms” that have been ingrained in us since childhood. You deserve rest. You are inherently worthy. You are enough.
Our emotional and mental health are invaluable
Yet as caregivers, we frequently deprioritize our own needs to help others. This leads to burnout and we quit the very profession that we love and so much want to be a part of. This has negative consequences on our industry, the people and pets we serve, and on our own self-perception, because we feel ashamed that we “couldn’t cut it” and we believe we have failed ourselves and those for whom we promised to care.
The truth is, if we want to show up as the best veterinarians, doctors, caregivers and advocates, we need to have emotional and mental health and resilience. A healthy life requires a healthy mind!
It's not all in your head!
Our bodies and unconscious minds are inherently wise. To heal from past trauma and to create fulfilling lives, we must learn to connect our logical brains to our lived experience. You cannot know yourself without knowing your whole being. You cannot intellectualize your way out of misery. This is why I specifically teach you the science of what is happening in your brain and body, so that you can finally understand yourself and what is happening to you, and consciously take back your life.
My Approach
I believe that everyone deserves to live a life they love.
Yet, societal expectations and hustle culture often get in the way. We learn to cope and stay afloat, all the while wondering why we feel so exhausted and can’t figure this whole work-life balance thing out.
The key to creating a sustainable, healthy life is to stop repeating the unconscious survival patterns that keep us stuck. What got you here will not get you there. A deep, personal transformation in which you rise from the ashes like a magnificent MF-Phoenix is what will. 🐦🔥
Through a mix of coaching, teaching, somatic exercises, implementing practical mind-management tools, and using proven step-by-step strategies, I help you heal your traumas, reduce your stress, get rid of chronic pain, and reclaim your time, your energy, and your life.
As your coach, I am your biggest cheerleader and most honest ally.
It’s time to stop surviving and truly THRIVE.
Let’s beat burnout together.
